Wellington commuters say to "not even bother" with trains

From Morning Report, 8:46 am on 1 May 2023

Back now to our story about Wellington commuter disruption, with passengers facing big delays from this morning after the train network was forced to operate at reduced speeds.

The trains are running at a maximum of 70 kilometres per hour, because a KiwiRail track assessment car has broken down and can't ensure the network is safe.

Our reporter, Phil Pennington, was told by fellow commuters to "not even bother" with the trains as he was walking to the station this morning, and so he has instead taken the bus.
