Firefighters Union criticises management's 'roll a dice type approach' to severe weather

From Morning Report, 6:16 am on 10 May 2023

Firefighters say they should have been called out earlier to help with flooding in Auckland yesterday.

Rescue staff say they were called on after flooding had already begun at 11.15am, and within 30 minutes a rescue truck was responding to a cliff collapse north of Auckland.

The Professional Firefighters Union says management should be more pro-active.
