Wellington City Councillor Tamatha Paul says it isn't good enough that Loafers Lodge was only inspected twice in a decade, when it should have been checked once per year.

Councillors were briefed yesterday on their performance on building audits, which found less than 4% of buildings were being audited each year.

At least 20% of buildings should be audited.

Tamatha Paul spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss this morning.
