9:10 Taskforce Kiwi helping with Queensland recovery

While New Zealand has been basking in balmy summer conditions our friends across the Tasman, have not been so lucky. In the lead-up to Christmas Tropical Cyclone Jasper hit Queensland - a powerful and long-lived tropical cyclone that claimed seven lives. A quarter of a million people have been affected by the storm. The Queensland government says it will take years to get homes repaired. In the true Kiwi spirit, a team from Taskforce Kiwi has arrived in Queensland to help with the relief and recovery efforts. Team leader Kane Turner joins the programme.

9:25 How to know where not to swim this summer

For many of us celebrating summer means regular trips to a beach, lake, or maybe even a local swimming hole. But how often do you stop and think about the quality of the water before you jump in? Every summer water quality monitoring organisation Land, Air, Water Aotearoa (LAWA) publishes and updates the "Can I Swim here?" guide. The guide provides a rundown of the current water quality at over 800 popular swimming spots.  Anna Madarasz-Smith is LAWA's chief scientist.

09:45 How telling stories can help doctors improve our health

Dr Lucy O'Hagan has spent her career intrigued by the cultures within medical care, including the way doctors and patients communicate. She is finishing a book on the subject and joins Anna to discuss how effective communication helped her recover from a bout of burnout.

10:10 Road trip with Airana Ngarewa

No prizes for guessing which music group Pātea author Airana Ngarewa wants to listen to on a road trip with Anna. The nephew of Te Pāti Māori co-leader MP Debbie Ngarewa-Packer published his first novel The Bone Tree earlier this year. But does Debbie or his other well known aunt - Spotswood College principal Nicola Ngarewa - make the back seat for this road trip? Airana joins Anna for our summer road trip.

11:10 Wellbeing, fitness myths busted by Elaine Rush

When it comes to our health, it often feels like every bit of guidance is met by two pieces of contrary advice. So, should we really be hitting 10,000 steps a day? Is eating before bed actually bad? And do those embracing high intensity workouts really reap the rewards? Auckland University professor Elaine Rush joins Anna to bust some of the biggest wellbeing and exercise myths. Text your questions for Elaine to 2101.

Most people have heard of the Great Walks dotted around Aotearoa, but few are as familiar with the 'Great Rides' - 23 bike trails that make up ‘Nga Haerenga, The New Zealand Cycle Trails’. He gives us the rundown of the latest and greatest bike tech, and the best trails to hit.

12:00 Urban Jumble Quiz

Every day we're giving you three words. Within each word are letters which spell out a New Zealand town or city. Each letter can only be used once. While some words may have more than one answer, the correct answer must be the town or city we're thinking of. So have a pen and paper and a map at hand and have a go.
