Wigan Athletic have pulled off a shock 2-1 win at third-placed Arsenal to continue their dramatic late bid to escape the English Premier League relegation zone.
Last week Wigan beat league leaders Manchester United 1-nil, and Arsenal, who had won nine of their last 10 league matches, were left shell-shocked this morning when Wigan scored two goals in the first eight minutes.
Arsenal struck back quickly but Wigan hung on to claim a victory that moved them five points clear of relegation with four matches of the season left.
