Oram extends lead in Tour of Southland

The Auckland rider James Oram has extended his overall lead in the Tour of Southland after finishing third on today's gruelling fourth stage a 187km ride from Te Anau to Queenstown.

The stage which finished with an 8km climb up Coronet Peak was won by another Aucklander Taylor Gunman who's competing in his first Tour of Southland and is now third overall.

Oram went into the stage with an eleven second lead but is now 33 seconds over second placed Sam Lindsay of Auckland who was second on today's stage.

Tomorrow's fifth stage is a 167km rider from Invercargill to Lumsden.
