Reality check could be in store for Phoenix in Brisbane

6:46 am on 25 January 2014

An unbeaten five match run has Wellington Phoenix coach Ernie Merrick reminding his players not to get carried away by their recent form when they play A-League competition leaders Brisbane Roar tonight in Brisbane.

The Phoenix are unbeaten in their last five games having beaten the Melbourne Victory five-nil in their last outing while also having enjoyed a recent win over second placed Western Sydney.

However they've never won at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

The Phoenix though are without Costa Rican internationals Kenny Cunningham and Carlos Hernandez who are on international duty while Brisbane are without their top striker Berhart Berisha who's suspended.

Merrick says the side has shown what it's capable of and they need to maintain that and continue to work hard.
