White Ferns out of T20 World Cup

The New Zealand women's cricketers have fallen agonisingly short of making the semi-finals of the Twenty/20 World Cup after losing to South Africa by five wickets in their final group game in Bangladesh.

Batting first, the White Ferns made 114 for eight in their 20 overs before South Africa chased down the target with five wickets and four balls to spare.

New Zealand finished equal with South Africa and Australia on points with three wins each, but the White Ferns failed to advance to the semi-finals by virtue of a lower net run rate.

Australia and South Africa are the two teams from group A to advance to the final four.
