Ko shot an even par 72 in her final round at the LPGA Tour's season-ending tournament in Florida, finishing in a tie for 10th.

She had to win the tournament to claim the $1 million cash bonus for being the player of the season.

Jutanugarn finished three shots ahead of Ko in a tie for fourth at 14-under, and was five shots behind the tournament winner - England's Charley Hull.

It was Hull's first win on the LPGA Tour.

Jutanugarn finished the season with five victories and 15 top-10 finishes to Ko's four wins and 13 top-10 finishes.

Ko remains the world number one heading into the new season while Jutanugarn is in second place. South Korea's In Gee Chun is the third best ranked female golfer in the world.
