The Blues rugby coach Pat Lam says lock Kurtis Haiu remains very much a part of their team.
26-year-old Haiu is receiving treatment for cancer, with the team doctor revealing the forward has only a sixty five pecent chance of full recovery.
Blues team doctor Stephen Kara says a biopsy has shown Haiu has stage two bone cancer, after tests a fortnight ago revealed he had a lesion on his rib.
Haiu will have three months of chemotherapy and then surgery followed a further six months of chemotherapy.
Lam says Haiu is getting a lot of support from the side.
