1:15 Clearing Old Man's Beard from the Zealandia fence line

A group of volunteers in Wellington are on a mission to rid the city of Old Man's Beard, a vine that smothers New Zealand native bush.

Following success in clearing it from several reserves, the group now plan to get rid of it from the suburb of Highbury, home to ecosanctuary Zealandia.

3:35 Critter of the Week

This week’s critter is a tiny jumping moth. The flightless and dusty-looking Kiwaia "Cloudy Bay” moth only lives on one type of mat daisy (Raoulia australis) in a few areas of north-eastern Marlborough. Local DOC staff and farmers are working hard to protect this critically endangered critter.
