The Twitter hashtag 'I'll Ride With You' has gone viral as a show of support for Muslim Australians after the Sydney siege.

It was sparked after Sydney woman, Rachael Jacobs, posted on Facebook saying she'd seen a woman she thought was Muslim removing her hijab while sitting next to her on a train. She posted "I ran after her at the train station. I said 'put it back on. I'll walk with u'. She started to cry and hugged me for about a minute - then walked off alone".

Sydney TV content editor, Tessa Kum, saw the Facebook post and started the Twitter hashtag.

Simon Mercep talks to Anjum Rahman, a member of the Islamic Women's Council of New Zealand... who last night tweeted to thank the Australian community for getting behind the message.
