Rising misogyny in anti-government rhetoric

A video of a group of men in Southland rallying against the government has been panned online for its misogynistic sentiment. 

The short clip was shared on Twitter over the weekend and quickly drew criticism for comments such as, "I'm here to look after the women".

Wallace and panellists Janet Wilson and Max Harris talk to Massey University's Dr Suze Wilson about where this undercurrent of sexism comes from.

Dr Wilson recently published analysis on the vitirol directed at Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.
