1:15 NZ know how developing a cost effective home battery system

Christchurch based company ArcActive have been developing a new home battery system since 2011.

It's designed to sit behind the meter, helping home owners with solar panels store there energy.

Similar systems are already available but ArcActive believe theirs will be significantly cheaper.

Next month they'll attempt to raise $70 million, build their first factory, and bring the system into commercial production.

Chief executive Stuart McKenzie explains their system to Jesse.

In fact, between 13 and 15 percent of them experience the effects, and that number is even higher for Māori and Pasifika children.

1:35 Capturing the legacy of the Pukekohe Park Raceway on film

Petrol heads across the country were saddened when it was announced the iconic Pukekohe Park Raceway would host its final motorsport event in 2023.

Thankfully the park's racing legacy has been preserved in a new short-documentary titled 'Checkered Flag'.

It follows the father-daughter duo managing the course at the end of its run as they try to give everyone one last chance to drive fast.
