The US Republican Party has nominated Aumua Amata Coleman as its candidate for American Samoa's seat in the US Congress in the election in November.
It will be her third attempt since 1992 to win the seat which has been held by Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin for the past 16 years.
She says with her contacts in Congress and with a Republican in the White House, American Samoa's concern will be properly addressed.
