Fiji police are reportedly monitoring the movements of a New Zealander in Fiji who has been making life threatening calls to embassy staff.

The director of the Criminal Investigations Division, Emosi Vunisa, says the man has differences with the High Commission staff.

The Daily Post reports that the man has been labelled a terrorist after he threatened to blow up the New Zealand High Commission.

The Director of Immigration, Navendra Prasad, says the New Zealander was not on an alert list which would have banned him from entering the country.

The high commission has declined comment about security measures at the mission which is in the Reserve Bank Building in Suva.
