American Samoa is now bracing itself for a petrol shortage, just a few days after shortage of diesel was resolved.
The petrol shortage is antcipated after petrol which arrived on board a Mobil Tanker last week was refused by the government because it did not meet specifications.
The next supply, originally sceduled to arrive on October 8th has been delayed until October 16th.
The Office of Petroleum Management says that rationing is being considered and the possibility of importing petrol from nearby Samoa is also being explored.
A lack of diesel last month kept fishing boats tied up for three weeks.
That shortage was the result of a fire on board a tanker that had been bound for the Territory.
