Solomon Islands Bank Governor questions viability of new fund promising huge returns

The Governor of the Bank of Solomon Islands, Rick Hou, wants the viability of a Family Charitable Fund to be debated in public.

Mr Hou says if the promoters are genuine about the scheme, they should be able to produce evidence that the fund is legitimate.

However, a client of the fund has told the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation that the issue should no longer be discussed because he and other members were getting confused.

He suggests that everyone should wait patiently for the returns the promoters of the scheme have promised.

Under the Family Charitable Fund, a deposit of 36 US dollars is said to secure a return of 160 thousand US dollars in a short period of time.
