The Fiji government has opened an office of the Audio-Visual Commission in Los Angeles to boost its profile as a location for international film production and promote the government's tax breaks.

The office will act as a one-stop shop for Hollywood film industry professionals promoting Fiji's potential for audio-visual work.

It follows the beginning of development work at the Yaqara Studio City, a 2-thousand hectare zone that officials say will offer the full complement of production facilities, hotels and a fibre-optic cable connection from Fiji to the US, Australia and New Zealand.
