American Samoan police are still questioning a government employee who was discovered with nearly nine grams of marijuana in his luggage at Tafuna airport last Saturday.
The director of the department where he works is also conducting an investigation before deciding what action to take against the employee.
He says the employee has worked for the department for 15 years and has never exhibited signs of being a drug user.
The employee claims the cannabis is not his and could have been placed in his bag during a party he attended before leaving New Caledonia.
