The auditor general in the Solomon Islands wants to remain independent in its work to crackdown on corrupt business practices.
Augustine Fatai says the Regional Assistance Mission proposal to form a coalition with the Leadership Code Commission, the ombudsman would interfere with its independence.
Mr Fatai says proper auditing in the country would help in the fight against corrupt agencies in both the government and private sector.
