One of Fiji's highest chiefs says the country's leaders need to change their attitude if Fiji is to sustain a stable political and economic climate.
Radio Legend reports that Bau high chief and former High Court judge, Ratu Jone Madraiwiwi, made the comment at an economic symposium convened by the Reserve Bank of Fiji.
It came in response to a question from the floor on what he thought were the major obstacles to political stability in Fiji.
Ratu Jone Madraiwiwi said Fiji's leaders need to change their stance on various issues as they often send out the wrong message to the people.
Among these he said are displays of ostentation and extravagance.
Ratu Jone said these wrong signals are having a deleterious effect on the national psyche of the country
