The funeral for the Norfolk Island deputy chief minister slain in his office will be held on Saturday afternoon.
Ivens Buffett was shot as he worked in the island's administration building on Monday.
Mr Buffet's 25-year-old son Leith Maclean Buffett has been charged with murder.
He appeared at a special hearing of the Norfolk Island Magistrates Court on Tuesday and was ordered to undergo psychiatric assessment.
He was not required to enter a plea and was remanded in custody on Norfolk Island to reappear in court again on August 3.
