Fiji police have gone on alert because of concerns over protests possibly planned for the end of vice president Ratu Jope Seniloli's current treason trial.
The assistant police commissioner operations, Kemueli Bulamainaivalu, who is directly responsible for security during the trial, says police are aware of an intention to hold a protest march in Suva.
The Fiji Times reports that Mr Bulamainaivalu says police have yet to receive an application for a permit to march.
