The judiciary in the American territory of Guam has been formally made the third branch of Government at a ceremony at the Guam Judicial Center.

Guam's Congressional Delegate, Madeleine Bordallo, presented a copy of the amended Organic Act signed by President Bush to justices of the territory's Supreme Court.

The amendment establishes the judiciary as Guam's third co-equal and independent branch of government.
