Tonga's Public Servants Association has rejected an offer by the government for a 12.5 per cent salary rise across the board.

Matangi Tonga magazine reports the Public Servants Association has now been on strike for nearly two weeks.

An association spokesperson, Fotu Fisi'iahi, told striking civil servants that the 12.5 per cent increase was unacceptable.

Fotu said that the PSA accepted the rest of the clauses in the offer made by government , but not the proposed pay increase.
