The Fiji Labour party leader, Mahendra Chaudhry, has reported the minister of Labor, Kenneth Zinck, to the police over statements he made on TV.

Mr Zinck said a vote for the United People Party is a vote for Labour and instability.

Mr Zinck made his comments after Labour and the UPP announced a coalition agreement ahead of next year's general election.

Mr Chaudhry says he has sent a letter of complaint to the Fiji police.

"Such statements and remarks are clearly in breach of the public order act and I have written to the commissioner of police to investigate this matter to see if Mr Zinck's remarks constitute a breach of the public order act and if so then to take appropriate action against him."

Mr Chaudhry says Mr Zinck's statement is distributing fear and confusion and he says he hopes the minister will be charged.
