American Samoa's governor introduces ethics classes

American Samoa's governor is introducing ethics classes for public servants.

Governor Togiola Tulafono said on his weekly radio show that he made contact with a company called Sodoquist to conduct the ethics course.

The governor referred to cases in the past where directors and managers in the government service have encountered problems with the law because of poor judgment and decision making.

He says he is not introducing the ethics training because the territory is full of dishonesty and deception, but rather he is looking to the future and the need to have honest, truthful and just leaders, who will set a good example.
