American Samoan Senate concerned about jet fuel tanks

The American Samoa Senate remains concerned that no action has been taken by the government to move the jet fuel tank farm from Pago Pago International Airport where, the senators claim, it poses a hazard to the traveling public.

Last September, the Senate passed a resolution calling on the government to take action on the jet fuel farm, but Senate President Lolo M. Moliga said nothing has been done and no communication has been received from the Administration about any plans to relocate the facility.

Last Thursday, Lolo wrote to Governor Togiola Tulafono about the Senate resolution, asking him to direct the American Samoa Petroleum Cooperative to assign top priority to the project.
