American Samoa Senator dies in California

American Samoa's Governor, Togiola Tulafono, says the territory has lost one of its finest and most outstanding public servants following the death of Senator Ma'o Tima Jr.

Senator Ma'o died yesterday morning at a hospital in Long Beach, Califonira at the age of 54.

The governor, said Ma'o served his constituency, the citizens of Manu'a, with conviction and passion.

He said the Senate and the American Samoa Legislature has lost an honored and respected colleague and fine statesman.

Senator Ma'o was serving his second four year term as one of the two senators for Manu'a District number one
