Vanuatu's Council of Ministers has agreed that the government will pay the outstanding pay to police totalling 670,000 US dollars.

The Daily Post quotes the government's spokesman, Patrick Crowby, as saying the list of outstanding payment provided by the Police Commissioners' office is currently at the Department of Finance.

Mr Crowby says the government was determined to pay off the outstanding amount after a payment of 277,000 US dollars was made to the officers three months ago.

He says the payments would be included in the supplementary budget that the government should include in its budget session scheduled for December this year.
