Fiji's military has cautioned Suva lawyer Richard Naidu about comments he made about the president and their commander-in-chief, Ratu Josefa Iloilo.

Mr Naidu had earlier told Radio New Zealand International that President Iloilo is the military's President not the constitution's President.

He also said the regime could only be viewed as illegal

Radio Legend reports that soldiers surrounded Mr Naidu's home in an inner Suva suburb last night and took him to the military camp.

The radio says Mr Naidu was dropped off in Wailoku about 8km away to find his own way home.

The Land Force Commander, Col Pita Driti, confirmed this morning that Mr Naidu was taken to the military camp and cautioned.
