The U.S. Department of Education's proposed budget for the next financial year includes more than three million US dollars to help American Samoa recruit teachers.
The agency says the money is to assist in attracting and retaining highly qualified classroom teachers for public schools in the territory.
Another 12 million dollars is to support students learning English while three million will go to help students from poor backgrounds through college, and around four hundred thousand annual assessments of students.
