French Polynesian airline to reduce services to Sydney

6:49 pm on 16 March 2007

The French Polynesian carrier Air Tahiti Nui will cut its services to Sydney from three flights a week to two.

The Tahitipresse news agency says the third weekly flight was only added a year ago.

The change will come into effect next week.

The airline says plans are on track to launch a Papeete to Sydney flight via Auckland.

Last year, just over 11,000 Australians visited Tahiti, making them the fifth largest source of travellers.
