Fiji's interim justice minister and attorney-general, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, says foreigners will be sought to staff a new specialised commission.
Last week, Fiji's president promulgated a decree setting up the country's first ever Independent Commission against Corruption with punitive penalties for those found guilty.
The commission will have the powers to investigate, search, seize documents and prosecute in its own name similar to the powers given to the police and director of public prosecutions.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum says he is excited about the role of the new commission, but needs the right staff.
"Being involved on a day to day basis ensuring its formulation, Im just concerned about finding the right people. We need people who will be completely independent and of course people of integrity and we need investigators who have integrity and we don't want them to be compromised. And there is a lack of resources in those areas in Fiji and we need to get people from overseas."
