The lead investigator at Fiji's Independent Commission Against Corruption has repeated that it will takeover any investigation that is suspected of being hampered by corruption.

Fiji's Acting Police Commissioner, Romanu Tikotikoca, has told local media he is concerned at the manner in which the Anti Corruption Unit went ahead with investigating a death in Nadi.

The Commission's Chief Investigator, Senior Superintendant, Nasir Ali, says his organisation was given the powers to be able to take action if needed :

"It has been empowered to investigate and prosecute in its own name. So if there is anything in relation to corruption that needs the Commissions to takeover, then it will takeover the investigation and the prosecution as well."
