American Samoa hospital board terminates CEOs contract

The Board of American Samoa's LBJ Hospital is terminating the services of former CEO Mr. Kirk Gray at the expiration of the 30 day notice given him to resign.

As of yesterday , Mr Gray had not submitted his resignation and he is now being terminated.

Mr Gray's attorney Charles Alailima has not answered questions on statements by the former CEO that he would be fighting his removal.

Immediately after he was replaced as CEO last month, Mr Gray said he would respond to every issue that the board cited as reasons for removing him.

He was appointed as CEO in August of last year and had a five year contract with LBJ.

The hospial's Chief Financial Officer, Patricia Tindall, is the acting CEO.
