Heavyweight Australia has shown respect for its next Pool B opponent, limiting the changes for its Rugby World Cup encounter with Fiji in Montpellier this weekend.

Wallaby utility back, Adam Ashley-Cooper will replace regular captain Stirling Mortlock, at centre in one of three changes to the starting team that beat Wales 32-20 at Cardiff last weekend

Phil Waugh comes into the team at openside flanker at the expense of George Smith, while Mark Chisholm replaces Nathan Sharpe at lock

Wallabies half back, George Gregan, will equal Will Carling's international captaincy record after being named as Australia's skipper.

It will be the 59th time Gregan has captained Australia, equaling the record set by the former England skipper in the 1990s.

Meanwhile giant prop, Fosi Pala'amo, has been called in to the Samoa squad for this weekend's Pool A game against England in Nantes

The front rower, who tips the scales at 22st 12lbs, had been on stand-by and has been called in to replace injured prop, Justin Va'a.
