The Guam Power Authority has agreed not to disconnect streetlights while the administration and legislature try to come up with a plan to pay the Department of Public Works' outstanding 17 million dollar power bill.

The acting speaker, Eddie Calvo, says administration officials and the Guam Power Authority are reconciling figures to determine just how much the government owes.

The Power Authority issued a 30-day disconnection notice last month - it was due to go into effect on Nov. 17.

The Power Authority has been trying to collect the government arrears and issued the first disconnection notice last year.
