The Pacific Islands Forum and the European Union have endorsed a joint declaration on climate change that outlines their common concerns over global warming.
It registers their common interest in an ambitious post-Kyoto international agreement.
The Chair of the Forum , Niue's Premier Toke Talagi, has announced that the Forum and the EU have just concluded negotiations leading to their common framework for action on climate change in the Pacific.
In a statement the EU says the joint declaration shows that it and the Pacific Island Countries have similar concerns on climate change and that any differences can be reconciled against the urgency of global warming.
