American Samoa's House of Representatives has called for a wage board to review the impact of the automatic wage hikes on the territory.

The request was a measure in a resolution passed pledging full support of American Samoa to the goals of the incoming administration of US President-elect Barack Obama.

The resolution also asks that the Obama administration be mindful of the impact federal legislation, regulations and policies can have on American Samoa and sister territories.

According to the resolution it would be most beneficial that a special industry committee or minimum wage inboard be considered and reinstituted to review local wages.
