Fiji's Commerce Commission has approved a decrease in the fuel surcharge from next Monday.

Commerce Commission chairman Charles Sweeney, told Fiji Live the decision was sent to the Fiji Electricity Authority or FEA at the start of the week.

But further details about the surcharge drop are yet to be announced.

Last week, the FEA had applied to reduce the fuel surcharge following queries from the Commerce Commission and the Prime Minister's Office about current fuel costs.

Meanwhile, Fiji's Consumer Council CEO Premila Kumar today called on the FEA to scrap the fuel surcharge from customers' bills altogether.
