American Samoa Department Health says five people are being held in isolation in their homes amid fears that they could have swine flu.

Samples have been sent off-island for testing.

The five individuals have been informed to distance themselves from others, stay home and away from social gatherings, such as church and work.

The medical director, Dr. Ivan Tuliau, says the department is maintaining close observation and communications with these individuals in order to prevent the spread of their illness.
