CNMI receives more H1N1 test results

9:32 am on 18 September 2009

The Department of Public Health in the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas reports that 65 laboratory results of samples sent to Texas have tested positive for the H1N1 virus.

Public Health Medical Director Richard Brostrom said this represents 71 percent of the 91 returned results from the laboratory.

To date, CNMI has a total of 71 confirmed cases of H1N1.

The Medical Director says there is no need to panic because the results came in late and all the confirmed cases were already out of the hospital months ago.

There are also no reported deaths from H1N1 in the CNMI.
