American Samoa based Inter Island Airways resumes flights

American Samoa based Inter Island Airways has resumed inter Samoa as well as domestic flights.

Inter Island Air suspended flights a week ago as its fleet underwent required maintenance upgrade and paperwork requirements by the Federal Aviation Administration or FAA.

The FAA has now given approval for the flights to resume and over the first service to Samoa got underway, with extra flights added over the weekend to accommodate high demand.

Inter Island also operate flights for the Manu'a Island group.

An airline official says extra flights have been added for both inter Samoa and Manu'a routes as the demand continues to increase.
