The French Polynesia Government says that Cyclone Oli, which hit the territory 12 days ago, caused about 70 million US dollars damage.
The cyclone destroyed about 600 homes, mainly on Tubuai Island in the Austral archipelago, when winds of more than 200 kilometres an hour swept through.
The President's spokesperson, Tevaitea Salmon, says work is underway rebuilding houses, businesses and the public infrastructure.
He also says some other islands including Bora Bora, Raiatea and Huahine have not yet fully recovered.
