Details have been released in Papua New Guinea of the planned headquarters of the LNG project in Port Moresby.

The Post Courier newspaper says the 7.2 hectare development will comprise permanent office and housing for the Exxon Mobil workers, mostly expatriates who will be employed in the LNG project.

The paper says the plans include three eight-storey apartment buildings comprising 14 four-bedroom apartments and a nine-storey apartment building with 35 two-bedroom flats.

The site will also have a two-storey community centre and a four-storey building with a helipad.

It will have its own power generation capability and facilities for the production of potable water.

The paper says the project, which is said to cost more than 200 million US dollars, was approved in late January and includes a 32-year lease of the land.
