Former Fiji leader allowed overseas for medical treatment

The Suva High court has allowed former Fiji Prime Minister Mahendra Chaudhry to travel abroad for medical reasons.

Mr Chaudhry is charged with four counts of money laundering, tax evasion and giving false information to Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority.

Fiji village reports Justice Daniel Goundar accepted lawyer Rajendra Chaudhry's submissions for Mr Chaudhry to travel to India and Australia in January next year.
