The CEO of the public hospital in the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas says private operators are still using facilities free of charge.

Juan Babauta says the practice is making the fiancial situation at the cash strapped facility even worse.

Mr Babauta said eight physicians from private clinics have been using the hospital's services and supplies free of charge for many years, with the costs being shouldered by the Commonwealth Health Center.

He cited this practice as one of the services provided by the centre that has never been charged for.

Mr Babauta said the corporation plans to sit down with each of the private providers to resolve the situation.
