Vanuatu police seek public help after Post Office cash theft

Vanuatu police are appealing for public help to find the suspects who broke into four cash boxes at the Vanuatu Postal Service Company, stealing about 25,000 US dollars.

Closed circuit TV film shows three people entering the building from the backdoor, and Detective Inspector George Towmey says one person then went to the safe and opened it with a key.

Mr Towmey says the person clearly knew his way around the building.

It is not clear why cash was on the premises given that Vanuatu Postal Services is next to several banks in central Port Vila.
